Writing aint so bad

I was talking with a friend on the phone yesterday and we reminisced about our childhoods. Somehow we got to our lives at present and how we are doing what we love to do and earning a living doing it.

That reminded me about my childhood, where often for fun myself and friends would do collaborative creative writing projects. Not your typical creative writing as we’d each write a paragraph and then the other would pick up and embellish and create a work of fiction that most often was pretty far out there. We really had fun with it and our minds stretched for our young age and realy deleivered some funny and bizarre stuff.

Eveything Slows Down in the Summer AND ESPECIALLY around HOLIDAYS!

The July 4th holiday just passed us by and for those of us in the USA that means we’ve mostl ikely been playing around more than working. I admit that happens with me a little, but some people take it to the extreme and basically become inaccessible for days or even weeks surrounding a holiday.

Happy 4th of July

It’s great on occasion to take time off and clear the mind of all the typical working day thoughts. The 4th of July is a perfect time for this! Today is the first day of a 3 day weekend.

This afternoon, Friday the 4th, I am heading off to a party with grilled food and alcohol and who knows what else! Tonight we’ll go see the fireworks at the Laguna Beach Main Beach.

Sunday I have friends vsisiting who’ll walk to the beach with me and then grab a meal in the village.

I was having some trouble with a new Plantronics headset microphone and I did some test recordings to see if I could get rid of some annoying artofacting type sounds (mild clicking occasionally).

I figured it out – the problem was Camtasia was set to record at 22 instead of 44 and I guess that caused some occasional disturbances.

This screen recording was done with a folder of photos and I simply did voice over narration as I flipped through them

I was originally going to toss it but thought hey – why not put it up here.

I’m goint to analyze my hair for toxins (and my dog’s hair too!)

OK, some of you must think this is a scam. After looking up hair analysis toxins on Google the first result was from a quackery watch site saying hair analysis was inconclusive.

Why is it that someone always wants to rain on my parade?

OK, sure I do realize that hair analysis may not be as thorough as blood analysis, but from what I hear it actiually has many benefits over blood, especially for looking at toxins that may be in the body. Also, I want to make sure that any blatant viatamin deficiency problems are pointed out so I can do the supplement thang.

Cubase and M-Audio Firewire 1814

This is a followup to the post I wrote in my other blog (which I am now trying to keep on topic for internet marketing) about Digital Audio Workstations

Since writing the original pleas to Ann Landers, I have since set up my PC with Cubase 4, I bought the Kore 2 upgrade along with Native Instruments Komplete. I’m using the M-Audio Firewire 1814 interface which so far is great!

I’ve been asked for a recent picture without sunglasses so I picked one out that was taken a few weeks ago when my Mom was visiting. She took this shot of me as the sun was going down.

That photo is on my deck in front of my house overlooking the Pacific ocean as the sun sets. While not every sunset looks as spectacular as this one, I am still overwhelmed each day I catch the sun going down! It’s been about 10 weeks since I moved to Laguna Beach and while it does feel like home, I am still awed by how great it is here!

I really lucked out and got a great house in a very special place!

Today – April 28th, 2008 – is pretty hot although not as hot as yesterday. It hit the 90’s here in Laguna Beach yesterday and that’s unheard of in April. It’s in the 80’s today which is still hot for here by the ocean, but hey – it’s tolerable!

My friend Lorraine said the polar icecaps are melting. Uh oh…

I guess it’s a good thing I am 4 blocks from the beach and NOT right on the ocean! That way if the water rises I’ll still be in a good place.

Of course I hope that is not true, but hey – who knows! Crazy stuff happens in this world and I would not be too surprised if the climate changes and that affects people.

The good news is that while I am complaining about it hitting the 90’s yesterday is that we did not have it as bad as other areas in Southern California as many areas hit the 100’s and even up to 110! Yipes! That’s insane!

Not long ago I lived in Sherman Oaks and that kind of hot weather was not uncommon. Here at the beach however we expect it to be close to 70 most of the time. It’s quite a shocker to jump into the 80’s or 90’s.
