Visualizing Life in Laguna Beach California
Feb 10th, 2008 by Mike
This post is about my first hand experience with visualizing success and the “power of intention”. Some think of this positive thinking stuff as voodoo or mumbo jumbo. Me, I know it works because my life is filled with examples of it.
Some say I am lucky…. Good things come to me…. Well, that may be true but I firmly believe I have created my own luck and have earned it!
Do you like sunshine???
Imagine living in a place that has on average 321 “very sunny” days each year!
Laguna Beach is that place!
After visualizing living in a home in Laguna Beach for some time now (almost 2 years) - I can actually say I now have the keys to an incredible house and am in the process of moving away from next door Newport Beach.
The house is perfect for me and exactly what I need in so many ways! I’m so excited!
For those not familiar with Laguna Beach, it’s in Orange County and it sits right next to Newport Beach on the coast of Southern California. It’s a breathtakingly beautiful place that artists and creative people have been flocking to for years.
Laguna Beach reminds me of Hawaii in many ways - both the coast and the village. It’s just close enough to Los Angeles to be accessible, but far enough away to be cleaner and quieter than the cities closer to L.A.
You may know of Laguna Beach from the show on MTV. Laguna Beach the Real Orange County.

My story… It’s a long story starting with my search for rental homes in Laguna Beach back almost 2 years ago. It’s nearly impossible to find a good rental house in Laguna. They all get snatched up immediately and the best ones are quite pricey.
I knew exactly what I wanted and also would not settle for less. I knew the exact geographic area I’d consider (needed to be with a 1/2 mile to the village) and the kind of house it would have to be. Not an easy task as I found out…
After looking for a year at rentals and not being able to snag a good one, I finally decided I would try to buy a house.
I knew this would be a challenge because it’s a very expensive place to buy a house and the supply is lower than the demand. Sure, it’d be easier to buy a house elsewhere, but Laguna Beach was magical and I knew it was the perfect place to live! Something just felt right about it.
So I started looking at homes. Initially I found a distressed property but fortunately I did NOT get that house. I made an offer but it was NOT meant to be.
Thank goodness because as it turned out I found another house that was incredible. I’ll spare the gory details but let’s just say it was a night and day difference. It was also almost double the price.
Pretty scary but I knew that house was made for me.
I loved it - made an offer - lost out to someone else.
They outbid me and I did not get it.
Despite the other people getting the house, I always knew the place was made for me. I never felt I lost it. In fact I often visualized the house, the view, living in it and how great it would be to live in it.
Almost 2 months passed and I got a call from the agent for that house.
Sure enough, the other party was having problems getting the financing and they wanted to know if I was still interested…
Wow! I had just taken my sister to go look at it a few days earlier and saw the For Sale sign still up (it said sold).
A week or so passed and even though we kept on them they told us the other party had the finacing after all. Oddly enough I knew that the deal was going to fall apart. I had a gut feeling I was still in the running.
Then a few weeks later, just before my planned trip to visit family for Christmas I got a call and they said the place was mine if I still wanted it.
The other party had trouble and the deal fell apart and they could not get financing. I had a second chance.
I delayed my trip a day and made an offer. Then over Christmas I could not think of hardly anything else other than how the house came back to me.
The day after Christmas I returned from my trip with family and found they accepted my offer. I was now in the process of making the deal happen!
Now, anyone that watches the news knows about how much trouble there has been in the mortgage industry. Times were tough and lenders were stricter than ever. In fact my original loan approval for “stated income” suddenly had a requirement of 50% down payment. Can you imagine that? 50% down? That’s insane!
I now had to go “full docs” which means they scrutinize every aspect of the financing.
But despite this I still had a gut feeling I would be able to make this happen. Despite some serious challenges it all came together. It was meant to be.
To make a long story short, I did find a decent mortgage that would work, but it required more money down than I had planned on. Miraculously the extra money FOUND ME!
I didn’t even ask for it. It came to me!
Once again I will spare the details, but as Wayne Dyer says - when you visualize and imagine things the way you want them to be - the pieces will fall into place. The people will find you and help you. They’ll ask to help you. They will apear almost out of nowhere!
And this is exactly what happened to me. It’s hard to explain, but in a nutshell I never gave up believing that I would own that house. And it all came together despite some uphill climbing.
I’m convinced it is largely responsible to my positive attitude and visualizations of what I believed to be my reality.
I’ll spare a lengthy discussion of that, but am confident ins aying that this voodoo positive thinking stuff really works.
This is but one example of the things that have happened in my life that I believe are a result of thinking positively and visualizing success and following my dreams.
I also believe a lot of this happened because of my willingness to give to other people without expectations. I have become more and more generous with my time, my guidance and more.
If you give you set something in motion and things flow back in your direction.
So here I am - ready to move in to this incredible house…. It all came together despite a horrible economy and many mortgage industry clampdowns and I got the financing and it’s all for real!
It just goes to show that even when things seem impossible, they can often come together exactly as you imagine them!
So, if you ever lose out or hit a roadblock or setback, and something goes wrong - don’t focus on what went bad. Instead focus on what you want and feel you deserve. It seems to work for me! I am sure it can work for you!
Great say, Mike!
I firmy believe in positive thinking. Actually I don’t know if you ever heard about Anthony Robbins? For those having trouble to think possitive - nay, BE positive - here a great video to help you break the patterns and stop you from thinking wrong.

Mike, what a great example of positive thinking and attracting good things into your life - it’s an inspiration to all of us. Lots of upcoming marketers are now focusing on giving rather than taking and this can only be good for the industry. Hope you love your new home!

You can do some amazing things with your mind. One of the things I try to teach people is if you have a positive attitude and talk to yourself in a positive way you will do much better and be happier.
Visualization is a bit harder for people to believe because they don’t think you can sit down, relax and visualize something and then get it. Even worse are those who think they can just visualize somethig and it will happen with no work on their part.
No matter what working toward what you have visualized is a must if you are to get it. In essence visualization is nothing more than setting a goal and seeing yourself making that goal, in your mind.
The next step is doing the things that advance you toward your goal and discarding those things that don’t. I have several sites related to that theme and the main one is here. Your mind and mental power
I’ve used affirmations and visualization for many years now and I know it works. In 1996 I was next to broke and I wrote my own affirmations to make money. I repeated them everyday on the drive to work and the drive home.
In 1997 I got on the net, taught myself html and by 2002 I’d made over 2 million dollars with affiliate programs. After I made all that money I stopped doing my affirmations and visualizations.
I had everything I’d ever wanted. 7 br, 4 bath 3300 sq foot house on a lake and owned 3 acres of lakeshore plus 10 acres across the road from me. My stepsons had everything they could ever want as did my wife. Boats, cars, motorcycles, 4 wheelers, etc.
I’ve now restarted my daily affirmations and visualizations. I even created a desktop picture with all the things on it I am going to have and it works on my subconcious everytime I see it.
Your subconcious mind is the most powerful thing you have and if you can learn how to use it you can have anything you want to have.
I can only agree with you 100%. The fact is that the more specific you are with your thoughts and desires, the more the universe has to grab onto and bring to you. I teach all my members this power and without question, those that believe and implement this, see spectacular results. Thanks for sharing Mike. Truly awesome! Damian www.truthaboutpassport.com
