Canon Redeems Itself with the PowerShot A650 IS

The Canon PowerShot A650 IS is one hell of a camera!
I bought it about 6 weeks ago and I have been thrilled with it!
What is notable about the PowerShot A650 IS is that unlike it’s predecessor, the A620 which ALSO does not have the excellent SPORTS MODE from it’s predecessor the A95, is that the newest camera has IS – image stabilization.
While this is not something that affects all photographers as much as it may have impacted myself, Image Stabilization now helps the new Canon PowerShot A650 IS to take pictures that sports mode would have caught perfectly.
It helps reduce the number of blurred shots considerably, especially in situations when the photographer is moving (many of my pics are like this! I take them while I am out doing things!)
Sure, this may not have been much of an issue for those that pose a group of people and say smile and then sanp – but for me – I take pictures in all sorts of situations – sometimes as I am walking- driving in a car etc.
So thank you Canbon – it’s good you added the Image Stabilization. Granted – it still is NOT as good as the original sports mode in the Canon A95 – but it helps a lot!
