Southern Cal Air is Back to Normal
Nov 7th, 2007 by Mike
I’ve been meaning to give a proper update on how the air quality has improved since the wildfires began a few weeks ago but have been soooo busy I have not had time. This is just a quickie to let you all know that we’ve been doing really well the past few weeks. It was particlularly bad for the first few days but has progressively gotten better.
Now that the fires have been out – air quality is good except for all those people who insist on burning wood and garbage in their fireplaces… Sorry, I just don’t get why burning wood is something people like to do… oddly enough I just heard that the SF Bay Area is working on legislation to prohibit the burning of wood in fireplaces. I’d jump up and down if that were the case!
I can understand your experience with air quality having just had record fires earlier this year in Melbourne Australia. The devastation was immense. The smoke blanketed the skyline for a period of weeks. It took some time for the fires to recede and for the air quality to clear up.
I know what you mean… hey – I get perturbed when people run their fireplaces and send all that black crap my way… smoke is pollution – even if it’s just burning wood (and in some cases garbage) :’>
I do so agree with you all.
Good luck.
